All About Lavender

For the past two weeks I had a poll asking all of you what your favorite oil is. The contestants were Lavender, Peppermint, Tea Tree and Lemon essential oils. And the winner is.........Lavender! Probably because it by far one of the most versatile oils of them all. So, in honor of Lavender winning the favorite oil contest I am going to share with you some of my absolute favorite ways to use Lavender.

1. Put a 2 drops on a cotton ball and place in your pillow case to help you sleep at night.
2. Put 2-3 drops on a minor burn to decrease pain
3. Rub 2-4 drops over armpit area as deodorant. (personal favorite of mine when I forget to put deodorant on!)
4. Place a few drops on a cotton ball and put in your linen closet to scent the linens and repel moths and insects.
5. Place a few drops on a wet cloth and throw into the dryer. Your clothes will smell WONDERFUL!
6. Apply 2-3 drops to a rash to stop the itching and heal the skin.
7. Put a drop of Lavender on a cold sore

See how amazingly versatile Lavender is?! These are only a few ways I like to use Lavender, I would love to hear your favorite ways to use this amazing oil.

Get to know your oils!

My name is Vanessa and I have been an employee of Rocky Mountain Oils since January of this year. Through these past nine months I have learned so much about essential oils and what an amazing impact they can have on the way you live your life and I am so excited to share with you what I have learned. We will be using this blog to share with you stories from our very own customers, how-to videos as wells as educational videos, articles, recipes and anything else you desire to learn from us.We want you to know as much as you can about your oils and everything they can do for you!

To start this off let me tell you of my new found love of Tea Tree oil. A few weekends ago my husband and I drove to California for a friends wedding, on our return trip I got a terrible pain in my ear that continually got worse. As soon as I got home I placed 2 drops of Tea Tree on a Q-tip and rubbed it in my ear (just around the edges, don't go too far) Within two hours my ear was feeling better! By the next morning my ear ache was completely gone.
Two days ago I was playing in my garden, I am up to my eyes in tomatoes! That night I realized I had poison ivy on my hand. Now, let me tell you that I am CRAZY allergic to poison ivy. I instantly put a few drops of Tea Tree on my hand and then again that night. I am pleased to tell you that my hand is now poison ivy free! Oh how I love Tea Tree oil!
